About me

I am a student of religion and philosophy at Vanderbilt University journeying through life and trying to understand a little along the way.

What follows here are some of my thoughts throughout my search and journey towards God, self, and others. My hope is that your spirit will be lifted up, challenged, and encouraged by something here.

I am always eager to discuss any and all things related to the above topics (or what ever else anybody wants to talk about). Feel free to contact me at: katrina.a.stone@vanderbilt.edu

I enjoy your blog very much and I am so please to see that you are studying religion. The church and the faith need progressive, insightful, and creative people in order to meet the challenges and opportunities in this exciting age.

My wife, daughter, and I do not live too far from you, about 85 miles south of Vandy just off I-65. We live right on the Alabama border in a little town called Ardmore. I am the founder of LifeBrook International and pastor of Sacred Mind Ministries. LifeBrook site is at:

There is a link there to Sacred Mind’s site.

I wish you the best in all your endeavors, now and in the future.

    Mick,

Thanks for the kind and encouraging words!

I visited your sites and think that what you have going with Sacred Mind Ministries is great. The renewed emphases upon spiritual potentiality and formation are exactly the components needed to address the world in which we live. And the personalized, innovative, and expansive (in the sense of appropriating every means possible to experience the Divine and spiritually grow) approach you are taking is, I am convinced, the only way that faith can come to thrive in a revolutionary way within our lives and world.

It’s great to talk to you and, who knows, since your ministry is so close, our paths may cross one day.

    Best and Peace,

    -Katye

Hey, I’m another Vandy student with a hobbyist interest in metaphysics and philosophy. You’d probably like this site if you haven’t been to it already:

Hey I was talking to someone I know a couple of days ago and it made me think of a comment that I left on this blog. What did you think of the comment I left on the entry titled something to the effect of “Jesus: a good moral teacher?”

    Keith,
Thanks for you thoughtful comments- I added some of my own thoughts in response to your comments on the “Jesus: a good moral teacher?” post. See what you think.
    Cheers,
    -Katye
